Soirée dédiée à STUDIO ONE COXSONE
Clement Seymour « Coxsone » Dodd, (Kingston, Jamaïque, 26 janvier 1932 – 5 mai 2004) est le producteur le plus important de la musique jamaîcaine.

C'est un des pères fondateurs du reggae et du dance-hall.

En 1962, il crée son studio d'enregistrement "Studio One", puis le label "Coxsone", et sera le plus grand producteur de l'ile jusqu'en 1975.
Il fut le premier producteur des Wailers et de Bob Marley.

Son label STUDIO ONE est la fondation sur laquelle s’appuie toujours la musique jamaîcaine aujourd’hui encore, et son oeuvre est comparé au phénomène Motown des USA.

La liste des artistes ayant fréquentés Studio One est impressionnante.

En voici quelques-uns :

Actuellement encore, il ne se passe pas une année sans que plusieurs riddims Studio One (foundation riddim) soit livré par les producteurs du reggae et du dance-hall mondial.
On constate aussi que certaines lignes mélodiques Studio One ont été reprises pour faire les hits actuels en Europe, en Amérique du Sud et aux USA.
Coxsone a révolutionné la musique jamaïcaine. Son œuvre est inégalable et toujours exploitée par les producteurs des musiques urbaines d'aujourd'hui.

Je vous informe du décès de Mme Begachaw  qui je crois est la petite fille d' Hailé Sélassié. Elle était dans une maison de retraite de Suresnes (92) sous le nome de Mme Belatchau. Elle sera enterrée à l'église du coeur immaculé de Marie vendredi 23/05 à 15 H
